SPECIAL MEETING of THE MEMBERS on Saturday 8/23 @2pm
Dear members of India Association of Memphis:
A Special Meeting of the members has been scheduled on Saturday August 23rd at 2:00 - 4:00pm at the Pickering Center, 7771 Poplar Pike, Germantown TN 38138 for the purpose of electing an executive committee for the rest of 2008 year & vote on proposals for amendments to the by-laws of IAM. Members will receive detailed letter in the mail. A three-member nominating committee has been formed for the purpose of receiving and ensuring the eligibility of any candidates that might be interested in standing for elections. The members of the committee are Arun Kumtha, Vijay Surpuriya and Raj Dave. Please feel free to contact any of them if you are interested in running for the office.

India Fest 2008
It is India Fest time! India Fest will be held at the Agricenter International on Saturday August 16th, from 11 AM to 7 PM. Community members are working very hard to make this year’s event a huge success. Here are some highlights:
1. The bazaar will move to the Dome at Agricenter which has about 5 times the space as last year.
2. There will be ample seating capacity for eating food or just relaxing with a cup of tea, lassi, or soda.
3. The Cultural Program will be held at the Amphitheater in Agricenter on Saturday August 16th itself. We will be constructing a large professional stage with a “never before seen” customized backdrop. Be assured that our children and community members will have a “fantastic” stage/platform to perform. For participation information, please click on the India Fest logo on the right.
4. The fancy dress competition will also be held at the Amphitheatre. For participation information, please click on the India Fest logo on the right.
5. There will be a very informative and highly attractive Festival/Art exhibit to showcase Indian culture to the people of Greater Memphis.
6. The Kids corner will be expanded this year to include other activities for children such as moon bounce and the like.
7. There will be yoga classes, Indian cooking demonstrations, and much much more!
